About Me
After a four-year apprenticeship I qualified as a farrier in 1979. During this time I was also involved in part time youth work. In 1988 I was offered a full-time youth work post and then involved in various forms of youth work for 20 years.
I am based in South Nottinghamshire and have been back in business as a farrier since 8th August 2008 covering areas of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.
My past youth work experience and faith has given me a desire to not only care for the horse’s wellbeing, but I also enjoy developing a caring relationship with clients.
Since being back in business for the last 10yrs, I have become more aware of the "barefoot movement" and having read and researched this area, I have decided that for the welfare of the horse I would stop shoeing and become a “shoeless farrier”.

Area Covered
I generally cover up to 25mile radius but willing to travel further for multiple horses. To keep costs down I aim to visit clients in the same area on the same day, for this reason it is helpful to give plenty of notice when making your appointment.
Take a look at the 'Area Covered' page to learn more.
Prices
Prices will vary depending on the distance travelled, number of horses to be trimmed and any other advice or remedial work to be carried out. Please contact me for a quote.
